Fire
1. Remain calm.
2. Notify others present in the building of the danger.
3. Call 911.
4. If the fire is small and you have had fire extinguisher training, use a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
5. Evacuate the building, take the visitor sign-in book, take the accession binder in the Reading Room, assemble at the Knox Town Hall near the parking lot, and await Fire Department staff. Compare signed-in visitors with the assembled group to be certain all visitors left the building.
6. Do not reenter the building or attempt to save any material possessions.
Medical emergency
1. Exercise caution when administering first aid of even a minor nature. First aid kit is located in the desk in the front quilt room.
2. Call 911
Water damage
We have a prioritized list of items in the front of the accession binder. A prioritized lists of objects is a necessary tool for the rescue of objects during and after an emergency. Priority is based on item’s use, uniqueness, availability of replacement, scholarly value.

Do not touch anything. Call 911.
