Daniel Simmons, ax maker, portrayed by Dana Sherman

Dana Sherman, who performs annually at the Altamont Fair as the lead member of the Lumberjack Show, gave a history and demonstration of ax making. Dana portrayed Daniel Simmons who had an ax factory in Berne in 1825. This factory was the first factory in the United States to make axes from cast steel.
